Also known as Christmas bush, that belongs to the family of Euphorbiaceae. It is widely cultivated in the whole Africa. Cordifolia contains many phytochemicals constituents like steroid glycosides, terpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, guanidine alkaloids, imidazopyrimidine alkaloids, alchorneine and alchornidine. It also contains some useful acid-like gallic acid, hydroxybenzoic acids, gentisic acid, anthranilic acid, protocatechuic acid, ellagic acid, and vernolic acid. It is best for eye health and intestine health.
