Production & Sourcing

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a popular Ayurvedic herb that is native to India but can also be found in parts of Africa and the Middle East. It is an evergreen shrub that grows up to 5 feet in height and produces small yellow flowers and red fruit. The plant is typically cultivated as a root crop and the roots are harvested and processed for use in various applications. The cultivation of ashwagandha involves a combination of traditional and modern methods. In India, the plant is often grown on small farms using organic farming practices, while in other regions it may be grown on a larger scale using conventional methods.Once harvested, the roots are cleaned, dried, and then processed into different forms such as powder, extracts, capsules, or tinctures. The processing methods may vary depending on the intended use of the ashwagandha.

We get our product tested on microbial parameters, heavy metal parameters, and when all fall within a suitable limit & safe for human consumption, then we accept the product. The powder which we provide is safe for consumption.

Consumption of E.coli & Salmonella may pose serious health issues like stomach cramps, abdominal pains, nausea, etc. Hence, we do not provide any product containing E.coli or salmonella.

We test total heavy metals, lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium in our products. These heavy metals by numerous studies are purported to be toxic for human consumption beyond certain limits and are known carcinogens. We also ensure that our product complies with California prop 65 regulations for lead content below 0.5 ppm levels.

The biologically active chemical constituents of Ashwagandha include alkaloids (isopelletierine, anaferine, cuseohygrine, anahygrine), steroidal lactones (withanolides, withaferins), and saponins.

Genetically modified organisms may pose challenging risks to food safety. We do not accept Ashwagandha extract powder from the farms and facilities where GMO crops are grown and processed.

This fine powder has greenish-brown to a brownish color with characteristic odor and flavor having not less than 95% through 40 mesh size.

Ashwagandha is partially water-soluble and partially fat-soluble, which means the plant molecules will bind with water and fat. As it is not 100% soluble in either medium, the powder will not dissolve, but it will disperse enough to comfortably drink.

As mentioned, 1.5% Withanolide is present, which is tested gravimetrically, as the presence of chemical components present in our product is tested in globally certified labs and can provide analytical reports for the content present in this product.

The other names of Ashwagandha are Winter cherry, Ajagandha, and Indian ginseng.
