Product Use |
Alanine, also known as alpha-alanine, is a nonessential amino acid crucial for protein synthesis. While naturally found in dietary sources like meat, fish, dairy, nuts, and eggs, commercial alanine production primarily relies on chemical synthesis. This involves reacting acrylonitrile with ammonium bicarbonate, followed by purification. Alternatively, extraction from natural sources such as sugar cane and corn is also feasible.
