Also known as True cinnamon, Ceylon Cinnamon belongs to the family of Lauraceae. A resident of Sri Lanka, it is also called Sri Lanka cinnamon. Catechin, protocatechuic acid, quercetin, epicatechin, p-coumaric acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid,syringic acid, rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and chlorogenic acid are the bioactiev components foun in this bark. It is a good source of potent antioxidants. It is also rich in minerals and vitamins. It has many health benifits.
