Product Description

Processing Method: Enzymatic conversion, Crystallization

Palatinose or isomaltulose is a disaccharide made up of fructose and glucose. Its quite interesting name is derived from Germany’s Palatinate region and is manufactured from beet sugar. Interestingly, the scientists behind its development rearranged the existing chemical bond between fructose and glucose molecules present in beet sugar to form the new compound. Nevertheless, Palatinose is not that sweet like sugar but it is pleasant in taste. Therefore, it can replace table sugar and is popular among athletes. Palatinose possesses a low glycaemic index, i.e. 32, as a result, human body cannot easily break down the strong chemical bond within its molecules.

Product Use

Production & Sourcing

Isomaltulose is a carbohydrate used as a sugar substitute in various food and beverage products. It is obtained from sugar beets or sugarcane. The sucrose is then enzymatically converted to isomaltulose using specific enzymes under controlled conditions.

During the process, the sucrose is treated with the enzyme, which rearranges the glucose and fructose units to form isomaltulose. The mixture is then purified to remove any impurities, involving steps such as filtration and drying to obtain pure isomaltulose in the form of a white crystalline powder.

Isomaltulose Powder is a dietary sweetener derived from sucrose (table sugar) through enzymatic processing. It is a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose, and is used as a sugar substitute due to its slower digestion and lower glycemic index.

Isomaltulose is chemically known as 6-O-α-D-Glucopyranosyl-D-fructofuranose. It is derived from the enzymatic rearrangement of sucrose.

Isomaltulose Powder is generally considered GMO-free as it is produced from sucrose through enzymatic processes. For specific non-GMO certification, check the product label or confirm with the manufacturer.

Yes, Isomaltulose Powder is free from Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE), as it is a plant-derived product and not derived from animal sources.

The shelf life is typically around 2-3 years when stored in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Always refer to the product packaging for the specific expiration date.

Isomaltulose is derived from sucrose (table sugar) through an enzymatic process. The process rearranges the glucose and fructose components to form isomaltulose.

As a Sweetener: Use as a direct substitute for sugar in recipes, beverages, and cooking. In Beverages: Mix into drinks or shakes as a low glycemic sweetener. In Cooking and Baking: Suitable for use in a variety of culinary applications where sweetness is desired.
