Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) is a climbing vine native to East Asia, including China, Japan, and Korea. It has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine and is now grown commercially for various purposes.

The production of kudzu involves growing the plant in hot and humid climates, with well-drained soil. It is typically grown in the southern United States, particularly in states such as Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. The plant is harvested after 3-5 years of growth, when the roots are approximately 2 inches in diameter.

Once harvested, the roots are cleaned and dried, then ground into a powder for use in various applications.
