Alkaloids, Coumarins, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Limonene, Myrcene, Phenols, Phthalides, and Steroids are the major bioactive compounds found in these seeds. These small seeds are rich in essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, magnesium, and iron. Polyphenol-like potent antioxidants are present in quite a good amount that combat oxidative stress. These seeds are well known for their medicinal and culinary uses.
