Commonly known as the Maidenhair tree, Ginkgo, or Ginkgo that belongs to the family Ginkgoaceae. This tree is native to China and Japan. Kaempferol, meletin, isorhamnetin-like flavonoids and terpenoids such as Ginkgolides A, Ginkgolides B, Ginkgolides C, and Ginkgolic acid are major bioactive components present. Kaempferol is well known for its antioxidant properties that neutralize oxidative stress. Ginkgo is an excellent source of Vitamins like Serie of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, folic acid, and minerals. Intake of Ginkgo is good for the brain, eye, and lungs health.
