Also known as Green Ginger, Grand Wormwood, Madder wort, and Wormwood sage belongs to the family Asteraceae. It is native to Europe. The leaves of this herb are an excellent source of phytochemicals like lactones, terpenoids, flavonoids, flavonoids glycosides, and phenolic acids. Artemisinin, alpha, and beta thujone, bornyl acetate, camphene, cadinene, myrcene, and linalool are the major bioactive components found. It is a powerhouse of potent antioxidants like quercetin, and chamazulene that protect from the harmful effects of oxidative stress. This herb has many medicinal properties, it is good for the liver, immune system, gut, brain, joints, kidney, and heart health.
