Bacillus subtilis is one of the spores forming, Gram-positive bacterium. It is rod-shaped by morphology. It is found in the gastrointestinal tract of humans, cattle, sheep, and goats as well as in soil. This bacterium spore can survive harsh environmental conditions. It is well known for producing alpha-amylase, and proteases that help in the breakdown of starch and protein in simpler forms. These bacteria are good for the gut, immune system, and lipid metabolism.
