Garcinia is the dried deseeded fruit of Garcinia cambogia Desr. {Garciniagummi-gutia (L.)N: Robson}(Fam. Guttiferae). Garcinia contains not less than 12.0 percent of total hydroxycitric acid and hydroxycitric acid lactone, calculated on the dried basis. Garcinia Aqueous Extract contains not less than 90.0 percent w/w to not more than 120.0 percent w/w of the stated amount of hydroxy citric acid, and calcium not less than 15.0 percent w/w calculated on the dried basis. It may contain suitable added substances.
