          Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant prized for its underground stem, or rhizome, used both as a spice and medicinal herb. Native to Southeast Asia, it holds a rich history in traditional medicine and culinary practices.

          Major ginger production occurs in India, China, Nepal, Thailand, and Indonesia, thriving in warm, humid climates of subtropical or tropical regions. Rhizomes are typically harvested 7-10 months after planting and can be collected multiple times yearly.

          In order to prevent and control biological hazards, we ensure that microbial parameters in our products comply with microbial limits as specified by the USP. We generally test total plate count (TPC), Yeast and mold, E Coli & Salmonella in our products.

          As the most common pathogens are E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus, this product is free from all these pathogens. However, since pathogens can cause gastrointestinal diseases, for safety, we do microbial testing in certified labs and provide its reports for confirmation.

          Here TLC (Thin layer chromatography) is used as extraction method.

          The type of flavonoid in Ginkgo is called Ginkgolide. The types of Ginkgolides are A, B, C, J and M. Ginkgolide B is considered the most active. Other flavonoids present are quercitin and kaempferol. The other components are Amino acid-6hydrozykynurenic acid, Dimeric flavones (bilobetin, ginkgetin, isoginkgetin, scieadopitysin), Proanthocyanidins, ginkgolic acid, ascorbic acid, carotenoids and bilobalide. Its nuts contain essential oil, fatty acid, tannin and resin.
