L-glutamine is an amino acid, a building block of protein. It's classified as a conditionally essential amino acid. This amino acid plays several key roles in the body. It's highly soluble in water and moderately soluble in alcohol. L-glutamine can be found in various foods, particularly in protein-rich foods like beef, chicken, fish, and eggs. It's also available as a dietary supplement.

Product Use |
Glutamine is primarily produced through the fermentation of glucose or other sugars by specific bacterial strains. In this process, glucose serves as a substrate to produce glutamic acid, which is then enzymatically converted into glutamine. The final product is purified and available in both powder and capsule forms.
While dietary sources such as meat, dairy, and legumes contain glutamine, their levels are relatively low compared to the body's requirements. Therefore, supplementation is a more efficient method to increase glutamine levels.
