Product Use

Production & Sourcing

Chinese Skullcap is a perennial herb native to China, Japan, Korea, and Russia. It is widely grown in the Henan, Shanxi, and Gansu provinces of China. In terms of production, Chinese skullcap is typically grown in well-drained soils, particularly in sandy or loamy soils. The plant prefers full sun and can tolerate a range of temperatures and climates. It is usually propagated through seeds or rhizome division. Harvesting of the herb usually takes place in late summer or early autumn, when the plant is about 3-4 years old. The aerial parts of the plant, including the leaves, stems, and flowers, are collected and then dried in the sun or in a dehydrator. Once dried, the herb is then processed into various forms for use.
