Also known as a Laung, Clavo, and Ding Xiang, which belongs to the family of Myrtaceae. Clove is very popular for its flavoring spice in the world. Eugenol is the major bioactive component of the clove Bud. Glycosides, saponins, flavonoids, steroids, tannins, alkaloids, and terpenes are the other phytoconstituents present in clove buds. It is also a good source of manganese, potassium, vitamin K, protein, and fibre. These clove buds are good sources of antioxidants like eugenol, β-caryophyllene, α-humulene, and Beta carotene.
