Fig fruit powder is derived from the common fig tree, scientifically known as Ficus carica. Figs are sweet, pear-shaped fruits with a unique texture, and they belong to the mulberry family (Moraceae). The name for figs in some South Asian countries called Anjeer. Figs are a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins (such as vitamin A, vitamin K, and several B vitamins), minerals (including potassium, magnesium, and calcium), and antioxidants. Figs contain antioxidants, including polyphenols, which may help neutralize free radicals in the body.
