Green tea belongs to the family Theaceae. It is native to China and manufactured in other countries in East and Southeast Asia. The major active components are epicatechins, flavanols, theine, kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin, catechins, theophylline, theobromine, and epigallocatechin gallate. It is a good source of polyphenols that may protect our skin from the harm full effects of UV rays. It is also rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, vitamin K, vitamin P, fluoride, iron, magnesium, calcium, strontium, copper, nickel, zinc, phosphorous and essential oils.
