          Production & Sourcing

Oat Grass, scientifically known as Avena sativa, is a species of grass belonging to the Poaceae family. It is mainly grown for its edible grain, known as oats, but the leaves and stem of the plant are also used for various applications.

Oat Grass is mainly cultivated in temperate regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia. It requires a cool, moist climate for optimal growth and is often grown in rotation with other crops such as wheat and barley. The plant grows best in well-drained, loamy soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. It is a low-maintenance crop and can grow in both low and high rainfall regions, making it a versatile and sustainable crop.

The production of Oat Grass involves sowing the seeds in early spring, followed by regular watering and fertilization. Harvesting of the grain is usually done in late summer when the plants have turned golden brown and the grains have dried. The leaves and stems are harvested in the vegetative stage, usually in early summer, to retain their nutritional value. The harvested plants are then dried and either stored for later use or processed into various products.
