Schisandra, also known as Wu Wei Zi, is a fruit-bearing vine native to China and parts of Russia. It is primarily grown in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, and Hebei in China, as well as the Russian Far East. The vine thrives in temperate regions with moist, well-draining soil and partial shade.
