Commonly known as Baker's yeast. β-Glucans are extracted from the cell wall of either Baker's yeast or brewer’s yeast. It is a polysaccharide made of glucose units, where glucose units are linked by β-(1→6) glycosidic bonds. These are water-soluble dietary fibers. Intake of β-Glucans is good for the heart, joints, and gut health. It can be used as a dietary supplement or can also be used as a food additive in frozen food, cheese spreads, and many more.
