Also known as roseroot and golden root, Rhodiola rosea is found in the mountainous regions of Asia and Europe. The shoots and leaves of this herb are eaten raw in salads. Rhodiola roots contain phenols, rosavin, rosarin, rosin, organic acids, phenolic acids, terpenoids and their derivatives like flavonoids, alkaloids, salidroside, tyrosol, etc.

Rhodiola rosea, also known as arctic root or golden root, is a perennial flowering plant that is native to the arctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. It is widely cultivated throughout Europe and Asia for its medicinal properties.
The plant grows in rocky, cold, and mountainous regions, thriving in extreme temperatures and high altitudes. It is typically grown from seeds or by dividing the root mass of mature plants.
Harvesting of the plant usually occurs in the autumn when the roots are at their peak potency. The roots are then dried and processed for various applications.
